Digitized letter from Maecenus C. Lawrence to Hon. C.S. Hamilton, Hon. P.B. Cole, and the Bar, in Marysville, Union Co. Ohio. The letter explains that Lawrence has been appointed as Colonel of the 84th Regiment Ohio Volunteer Infantry and as such will be gone with the regiment (presumably on campaign) for three months. Lawrence is hopeful that Hamilton and Cole, his patriotic brethren, will understand his absence from the Bar (presumably the Legal Bar, referring to Lawrence's law practice).
