Digitized letter from Charlie to his unnamed Sister, dated September 24, 1863. Charlie tells his sister that he found is regiment guarding a pontoon bridge at Battle Creek on the Tennessee River. He then describes the Battle of Chickamauga, his hopes for beating Lee's Army, and the number of wounded that are coming into the field hospital. He briefly talks about soldiers having to dress their wounds themselves while on the battlefield and that the doctors are doing their best to save the wounded men. He then shares some information about people that they both know and then asks her to write as soon as possible.
