Digitized 8-page letter from M. C. Lawrence to someone at home, apparently named Celinda(?), likely his wife. In the letter he describes a 200 mile march in the winter that he has just come back from, the views and weather in East Tennessee, the cold from which he is recovering, and seeing the effects of war on the country as he traveled across it. He is disappointed in her for not writing more letters to him, and he really misses the children and apparently ran across the son of one of his neighbors during the march.
