Digitized letter/statement from Captain M. C. Lawrence of the 121st Ohio Volunteer Infantry recording the loss of multiple weapons and accoutrements. Lawrence states that two of his men (Pvts. Philip Livingston and Joshua Cole) were wounded in battle and taken to the hospital in Chattanooga, where they were mistakenly arrested and their weapons were subsequently taken without permission, it seems, to arm men who would be on the front lines. Lawrence emphasizes that the loss was not the fault of his soldiers and was completely beyond his control. Pvt. Philip Livingston has signed the letter and made it an official voucher acknowledging the loss of the weapons.
