Digitized letter from George Young to Lottie, dated June 19, 1865. George attempts to get Lottie to understand camp life by setting the stage for her as he's writing this letter to her. He jokes about "committing suicide" but promises to do it only if he hears of her marriage. He mentions a wedding and being chosen to serve as a groomsman for it but is unsure he wants to be one unless he can choose his bridesmaid, and he would choose her.
The letter ends without the usual closing salutations, so possibly is missing a final page. The term "raising old ned" is an expression for "raising the devil" meaning "raising hell." It is possible that 2015.001.068 is the lost final page.
