Digitized letter from Jnd H. Rerick (?) to Mrs. E. B. Speed, September 5, 1864. Rerick expresses concern that Mrs. Speed has not arrived, possibly due to the railroad raids, and that the health of an unidentified man is failing and that he may only live another week or so.
There is a related envelope with a mailing address that someone, in a more contemporary hand, has written in the lower lefthand corner "Medical officers re(?) Raid on RR."
