A letter from Charles A. Yancy, a soldier in the 12th TN Regiment in the Civil War. The letter was written to his brother's and sisters, while he was in a camp near Chattanooga, Tennessee. The letter recalls their brother Tom's wounds and the death of their captain, John Studivant. He writes that he wishes he could be with them and how difficult the struggle is. He also request to be sent some new clothing. The letter is dated October 16th, 1863. It was found in an attic in Dyersburg, TN. It consists of two pages, front and back, but has been laminated in one piece.
