This item consists of a pamphlet related to the Copper Basin.
(a) is a booklet of four pages with the title, "INTRODUCTION TO THE COPPER BASIN." R.E. Barclay wrote the booklet in "Circa 1946" . The booklet cover the history of copper mining and processing in eastern Polk County. The high quantity of wood needed to operate the copper smelters, along with the toxic effect of the particulates in the smoke, caused trees and much other vegetation to disappear from the area.
