A letter written from John H. Lumpkin in Washington City to William Crutchfield in regards to the discussions in Congress about the war with Mexico. He says there is a proposed bill in the House of Representatives that will send reinforcements to the Army in Mexico. He suspects that the bill will pass in the Senate. Lumpkin includes a brief abstract of his letter on the back of the second page.
