Description Three newspaper articles found folded up within the Bill Lawson scrapbook (2003.056.001). a,b) were found between pages 10 and 11; c) was found between pages 18 and 19.

a) Article from The Chattanooga Post, dated June 26, 1968, about his mother, Wenonah H. Lawson, and her poetry. She wrote poetry about many subjects including war and local issues, and the article indicates that she had been published in several local newspapers over time. The article includes details about her life in Chattanooga and her poetry throughout.

b,c) One article from two pages of the Chattanooga News-Free Press, dated February 20, 1981, with the title, "Iwo Jima Survivors Hold Reunion" and the second section title is "21 Area Iwo Jima Survivors Mark 36th Year." The second section was marked b) and the first section was marked c) because of the order they were found in. The article is about Chattanooga area survivors of the battles at Iwo Jima during World War II. Bill Lawson probably knew some of these people, but he is not mentioned in the article. The Reunion was held at the Tick Tock Restaurant and put together by Bill Richardson.
