Digitized letter from Confederate soldier W. H. White to his sister Julia, dated July 31, 1863. White explains the circumstances of his arrival in Chattanooga, including an accident with the boat they were on, and his travels throughout Alabama. He also describes the camp and camp living. He asks about home and requests that Julia write to him.
Words in the letter are often written phonetically, making Julia's name to be spelled Juliar.
