Digitized letter from George Young to Lottie Lasher. Written from Rooms General Court Martial in Chattanooga, dated August 8, 1864. He complains about the competence of Generals Grant and Sherman. "Do our Generals lack men? Or do our men lack Generals?" He wonders why they haven't taken Atlanta and Richmond yet after getting so close. He teases Lottie that he almost fell in love with a young woman he met on a ride in the country.
