Digitized letter from Captain Thomas Palmer, Assistant Quartermaster, from Kelly's Ferry, Tennessee, to Col. A. J. Mackay, Acting Chief Quartermaster at Army of the Cumberland Headquarters. Dated November 13, 1863.
Capt. Palmer reports on sacks of forage and medical stores unloaded from the Steamers Paint Rock and Chattanooga at Kelly's Ferry on the previous day. Both Steamers have returned to Bridgeport. He requests five teams to help with transportation, and suggests that if he had a count of all the horses/mules assigned to the different divisions it would facilitate distribution of forage. He also needs camp and garrison equipment for his employees.
