Digitized letter/statement from Captain M. C. Lawrence of the 121st Ohio Volunteer Infantry recording the loss of multiple weapons and accoutrements. Three men were wounded at Chickamauga and in the midst of attempting to rescue them, Lawrence's soldiers were not able to carry the weapons because they were carrying the men. As such, the weapons were left on the field and lost to the Rebels. Lawrence states that the loss was unavoidable and not due to negligence on anyone's part.
