Digitized letter from M.C. Lawrence, sworn to be true by Private William H. Goff on February 22, 1864, recording the loss of 2 Enfield rifles and accoutrements in Sequatchie Valley on October 2, 1863. Goff and Private Joseph Walters were taken prisoner on a train and as such had their weapons taken from them. Lawrence states that the loss was not due to a fault or neglect of Goff or Walters.
