Digitized letter from a Union solider to a friend 'Ed'. The writer wishes he could be up north in Indiana because the weather is becoming too hot. The letter was written at the end of the war as the Confederate armies began to surrender. He has hopes to go home soon. He has been told that he will be mustered out by July 1st but expects to leave by fall. Believed to be written by Smith M Soza.
