Description Photographic image of a jet engine, with a Hamilton Standard logo on the propeller. In the early 1950s, Hamilton Standard developed the technology to accurately meter fuel in jet engines, and its fuel controls were employed on Boeing 707's and Douglas DC-8's as well as most other Pratt & Whitney jet engines - but it is unclear which type of airplane this is. Stamped on the back side of the original photograph: "Aerial Photographic Service, Lovell Field, Chattanooga, Tennessee. March 27, 1958."
