Black and white photograph of African-American students during the Chattanooga sit-ins of February 1960.
A large group of Howard High School students gathered near Lindsay Street on the third day of protests. Lindsay Street was the African-American shopping district, and police took advantage of downtown's dichotomy and pushed the students towards Lindsay in order to clear them from 'white downtown.'
The name "Wilson" is written on the back referring to the photographer, likely Delmont Wilson of the Chattanooga News-Free Press.
