This slide is labeled "Snodgrass Cabin Chickamauga Park Rossville, GA." The description is hand written in black on top of the date, November 1967. The photographer is unknown. On September 20th 1863, the second day of the battle of Chickamauga the Union Army forced the Snodgrass family to flee their home and hideout with other civil war refugees. The cabin then served as a field hospital for both Confederate and Union soldiers. The cabin has been restored and is still maintained by the National Parks Service. It is the last point of interest in the Chickamauga National Military Park.
