Print from glassplate negative. A large barge is in shallow water. There is a mechanical grapple attached to pulleys on the barge. A massive stone is held by the grapple. There are several African American men in the water and two holding cable lines attached to the grapple. On the rear of the barge is a little open cabin with a large winch in it. Two men are operating the winch lines to the pulleys. Along the river bank are piles of large rocks and a hand-held grapple with long arms. The opposite river bank is lined with shrubs. The location is unknown, however, the barge is similar to the one in image 1994.108.051. There is significant damage along the upper right hand edge of the image which replicates damage to the glassplate negative.
