Panoramic print, written on the front: "Winding Dept., Central Franklin Process Company, Chattanooga, June 20 -1927." The plant was located near the intersection of Holtzclaw and 17th Street. They are posed on the outside of the building. There are mostly female employees, and there are about 11 men on the back row and sides of the group. "Daddy" is handwritten on the photograph next to the only man in the middle with the women; he is Grover Cleveland McAlister, the donor's grandfather. He came to Chattanooga from Greenville, South Carolina, and helped open the Central Franklin Process Plant in 1926. He was superintendent over the Winding Room. The donor's grandmother also worked at the plant for 35 years.
