Digitized aerial image from an 11x14 print with hand-colorization of a black and white photograph from the middle 1950s of downtown Chattanooga. Color film was expensive then, so the application of inks and tints to colorize photos was popular and had been for decades. Results were dependent on the patience and skill of the person applying it. It is not clear if Roy Tuley, who likely took the photograph, was the person who hand colored it as well.
