This slide is labeled "Built in 1883 French Victorian South Crest Road". The handwritten description is written in blue ink. The printed date on the slide is July 1970. The photographer is unknown. The photograph was taken at a very close range to the building so part of the home is not visible which adds difficulty in identifying it. The home looks to be built of brick. The brick on the exterior walls is painted white, while the porch and wall around the yard was left un-painted. The shutters on the windows are painted black. It is difficult to know for sure if this home still stands or exactly where it is located. However there are many homes built around the same period still standing on South Crest Road. Most of South Crest Road belongs to the Missionary Ridge Historic District which was established in 1880. There are many overlooks and monuments dedicated to the Battle of Missionary Ridge including The Ohio Reservation Monument near 25 South Crest Road.
