Photographic image of people of Eastern Airlines at Lovell Field in Chattanooga, TN. These could have perhaps been customers and maybe even the first riders of the flights out of Chattanooga on the airline, but that is only an educated guess. They also could have been executives of the airline with their wives. This could have also been a promotional type photograph for the airline when it was new in Chattanooga.
The airplane, with the logo "Golden Falcon" on it, was a DC7B built by Douglas Aircraft Company from 1953 to 1958. It was the last major piston-engine powered transport made by Douglas, coming a few years before the advent of jet aircraft such as the Boeing 707 and Douglas DC-8. Circa 1955.
