|Object Name||Print, Photographic|
Black and white photograph of female African American students sitting at a lunch counter during the Chattanooga sit-ins of February 1960.
This was taken on the first day of the sit-ins. Five young women sat at the counter with their backs toward the camera. A sign on the counter read "counter closed". This may have been at S.H. Kress.
The name "Wilson" is written on the back referring to the photographer, likely Delmont Wilson of the Chattanooga News-Free Press.
