Black and white photograph of a confrontation between young white and African American men in a department store lunch counter during the Chattanooga sit-ins of February 1960.
This image was taken on the third day of protests. The confrontation began when the Howard High School students were leaving Woolworth's to move their protests to S.H. Kress. White students attempted to beat them to S.H. Kress, and in a second photograph (see 2007.083.001.mm) students are running.
This is a similar view as photograph 2007.083.001.ss, where several people are shown running.
The name "Mooney" is written on the back.
