Digitized photograph of two men sitting on a rock outcropping ledge, Point Lookout. They are wearing dark suits with long jackets and are holding broad-brimmed hats in their hands. One has a walking cane in his hands, the other has rested his cane on the rock. Behind them on the rock are two other men who have their backs to the camera. They seem to being wearing Union kepi hats in addition to heavy dark jackets with two buttons on the back. The land drops away from the outcropping dramatically to land that has been stripped down to bare and broken trees. Written on the back: Lookout Mountain, Chattanooga, Tenn. April 20, 1864.
At some point the picture had an oval mat over it which caused the visible part of the image to become darker than the covered part.
