|Object Name||Print, Photographic|
Black and white photograph of Howard High School students leaving a lunch counter after it was cleared during the Chattanooga sit-ins of February 1960.
This was either on the first or second day of protests. The three young men walking down the aisle in front of the lunch counter were probably forced to leave. Signs on the counter say "fountain closed" and the seats were roped off. A white female worker wearing an apron crossed her arms as she watched them leave.
The name "Wilson" is written on the back referring to the photographer, likely Delmont Wilson of the Chattanooga News-Free Press.
