Adolph Ochs (1858-1935) was a prominent publisher of the Chattanooga Times. The L.C. Smallwood Contracting Company is best known for constructing the Ocoee flume, the Witch's Cabin of Lookout Mountain, and the Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church. They were also known for constructing many of Lookout Mountain's roads.
