Three photographs together, 2 on the left pasted over the image of the man. Reverse side, handwriting: "Capt.(?) T.J. Warren Sr. and the medal presented to him in April, 1897, for heroism at the Richardson Bldg. fire." Stamped: Bob Sherrill, 4800 Madonna Ave, Chattanooga, TN, 37412. Medal inscription reads "He Risked His Life To Save Others" with the April 1897 date on it also. Captain T.J. Warren likely worked at Fire Station No. 1 in 1897, and must have rescued someone from the fire although newspaper accounts from the event do not mention it. The Richardson Building burned down on April 3, 1897. The Richardson Building was where Miller Brothers Department store was later erected.
