Description Series of Chattanooga News-Free Press photographs, primarily about desegregation actions and civil rights occurring in Chattanooga in 1961.

a) Group of four African American young men gathered in front of a judge's bench. An African American man stands to the side with his arm resting on the judge's bench. There is a large group of people sitting in the visitors' gallery behind the men. Written on the back: 6-28-61, Robert Earl Watkins, George Williams, Norman Clark. Stamped on the back: Jim Mooney.
b(1) A young African American man stands in front of a movie theater ticket booth and is holding a dollar bill in his hand. He is wearing a fedora hat and trench coat. The photo is taken from within the ticket booth looking out to the street. "Rogers Theater" is written on the back. "Jim Mooney" and "Mar 4 1961" are stamped on the back.
b(2) Chattanooga Publishing Company letterhead, "Photographic Order" indicating photographers are to check movie theaters for demonstrations related to the three afternoon show times. Stamped on the front "Jim Mooney" Paper was paper clipped to photograph 2016.004.052.b(1).
c) Sidewalk in front of movie theater with African Americans standing and picketing in front of the theater. There is an African American woman at the ticket booth. The theater is showing "Flaming Star" with Elvis Presley. "Tivoli" and "2/23/61" written on the back. "George Moody" stamped on the back.
d) Sidewalk in front of movie theater with African Americans standing in front of the theater. There are two Anglo women at the ticket booth buying tickets. There are three police officers standing to the side of the ticket booth. "Misfits" is showing at the theater. Written on the back: "Rogers Theater, White girls on right purchasing tickets. Negro approaching window to buy ticket." Stamped on the back: Jim Mooney, Feb 16 1961.
e) Group of seven African Americans (3 women, 4 men) standing around a movie theater ticket booth. They are wearing jackets and overcoats. The person in the ticket booth is looking away from them. Written on the back: Rogers Theater. Stamped on the back: Jim Mooney, Mar 4 1961.

i) Paper proof of photograph. Three Anglo men are facing an African American man who is wearing glasses. They are all dressed in suits and ties. "Principals" written on the back but they are not identified.
