Chickamauga-Chattanooga National Military Park Dedication ribbon owned by James P. Smartt. The ribbon is silver with blue writing and image. States "Chickamauga-Chattanooga National Military Park Dedication." Below that is an image with a bald eagle holding a shield and arrows. Under the image are the dates "Sept. 19th & 20th, 1895." At the very bottom the ribbon says "PLATFORM." There are tassels hanging down from the bottom of ribbon.
Notes: James P. Smartt was born 11 September 1844, died 9 September 1914. He served in the 16th Tennessee Infantry, C.S.A. Smartt moved to Chattanooga in 1878. He served as historian for the Chickamauga-Chattanooga National Military Park Commission and was a charter member of the N.B. Forrest United Confederate Veterans Camp.
